Our Academic Profile
The high school is staffed with four certified, highly qualified teachers (English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies), a Recovery Clinician (through a partnership with Community Healthlink), a Guidance Counselor, a School Operations Coordinator, a Special Education Coordinator and Principal.
Our curriculum is aligned with the Massachusetts Frameworks; students take the MCAS, and we will offer all requisite course work to meet the graduation requirements of each student's home school. We will work closely with schools to ensure that students are on track to receive a high school diploma from the home school as well as from Rockdale High School.
Participation in home school co-curricular activities will be determined on an individual basis.
Students have opportunities to use online coursework through Grad Point and to participate in Concurrent Enrollment at Quinsigamond Community College. Fitness & Health and Creative Arts electives are offered each day.
Our Recovery Community
Students attend Social Emotional (SEL) groups on a daily basis to address substance abuse, trauma, relationships, accountability, transition, grief and loss, healthy choices, self esteem, bullying and stigma. Co-occuring disorders are very common and are a focus of therpeutic support.
Peer to peer recovery supports are important and encouraged.
We employ an evidence based practice in working with students diagnosed with a substance use disorder.
Young Person's AA and NA are offered on site, facilitated by our staff and community partners.
We work collaboratively with schools, DCF, DYS, probation, courts, police departments, therapists, doctors and other collateral agencies to support each student.
Students served through a 504 and/or an Individualized Education Plan are will supported through counseling services, small class size, the implementation of Universal Design for Learning in each classroom, a special education liaison and accomodations for emotional disabilities and attentional challenges.
There are no upcoming events to display.
