Assessment Center at Hartwell (ACH)
Included within Hartwell, is a 45 day Assessment Center (ACH) for students who are displaying significant emotional and behavioral issues within their current school setting, impeding their ability to make effective progress. While not all students have a presenting diagnosis, profiles include disabilities such as Bipolar Disorder, Autism, Mood Disorder, and ADHD among others. During their placement at ACH, students undergo comprehensive clinical and educational evaluations to assist the Team in subsequent placement decision-making. Program features also include individual counseling, social skills training, behavioral data collection and frequent communication with district, home and collateral contacts. An extensive list of therapeutic and academic accommodations is included in the final assessment to ensure appropriate supports are in place.
